I got my first job in baseball 22 years ago because I spoke Spanish. Trust me…my Spanish wasn’t perfect then and it’s far from perfect now. Learning a second language is a life long adventure. It isn’t easy. I repeat, it isn’t easy. You will need more than the classes on this site or any other program. You will need to find every possible avenue to invite Spanish into your life. Friends who speak the language, formal classes, travelling to Spanish-speaking countries, watching Spanish movies, reading in Spanish, studying and memorizing vocabulary everyday. Learning a new language is hard work. But, the payoff is huge! Latino baseball players fill many roster spots in the major leagues and especially in the minor leagues.
